One way to Engage and Connect with your Audience to Draw Clients to you

Share your Story

Do you know one way to engage and connect with your audience to draw clients to you?  Share your story.  Sharing your personal story that’s unique to you and only you draws your potential clients closer to you.  As a client of services yourself, think of the professionals with whom your energies are invested. One quality that draws me to them is their person-ability.

If I have a choice of two professionals who have the same training and experience, I  will go with the one with whom I connect on a personal level.  Part of making those providers you love, well, “loveable,” might be their story, or their personality.  What is your personal story?  How do you make your personality visible in your work?  What brought you to the place you are currently at now in your life; your profession, your personal life?  Answering those questions is one way to engage and connect with your audience to draw clients to you.  It sets you apart from those in your field who may offer similar services or products as you.

My own Story-An Example

I recently asked myself, “What makes you, Cher, valuable to the clients you serve to help them speak up and stand out to voice their passion?  The question took me to my own story.  I posses an inner drive that is a result of my personal experience with inner self-development and personal growth. My self-discovery led me to pursue my business, Master Your Accent.  The impetuses for beginning that journey early on were the challenges I experienced in my adolescent years as well as the adoption of my daughter when she was seven years old.   I needed to do a lot of inner work to have a detachment to outer responses and outcomes.  I needed to do this because I was confronted with much different scenarios than I had expected.  I studied cognitive psychology in-depth.  I sought out many mentors and specialists in the field from which to learn and emulate.  Over the years, I collected a plethora of tools that helped me connect deeply with my inner spirit and with others.

As a result of my personal experience, I began looking inside myself to those endeavors for which I had a passion.  The opportunity to equip international professionals with tools to express their skills, talents, personality, and spirits presented itself as I worked with international physicians and engineers to modify their foreign accents.  I began to ask myself the same question: “What is one way to engage and connect with your audience to draw clients to you?”  I began sharing my story.  I started giving presentations in the community about the work I was doing to support professionals who spoke English as a second language.

Describe what others have told you

I realized, as audience members gave me feedback, that I had a dynamic, joyful, convincing, trustworthy presentation style.  I began breaking down what I was doing naturally, into step-by-step systematic components.  I developed a program to equip any professional (not only international) with spoken, non-verbal, and written presentation and communication tools that engage and connect them with their audiences, whether single members or a thousand members, online, or in-person.

I provide valuable communication and presentation tools to advance careers and personal lives.  I personally use the tools with which I equip clients.  I am overjoyed with how my own experiences, skills, talents, personality, and spirit have helped me to reach out out to others.  I am able to help people to connect and engage with their passion and audiences.

Your Story shares your Personality

I have shared some of my own story with you.  As you now know, one way to engage and connect with your audience to draw clients to you is to share your personal story.  Let your story show your personality!  Share your experiences with your audiences.  One component of a successful presentation, according to Jonathan Bender, Speaking and Performance Expert, is vulnerability.  What is your personal story?  How do you make your personality visible in your work?  What brought you to the place you are currently at now in your life; your profession, your personal life?
